HQ Episkopi and Troodos Station is responsible for the provision of security, infrastructure, services, real life support and community support to permanent and deployed force elements at six major sites: Episkopi, Happy Valley, Bloodhound Camp, Radio Sonde, Troodos and Mount Olympus. The HQ has 8 departments and has varying degrees of responsibility for administering a population in excess of 2500. The station also provides real life support to exercising and visiting troops with an average of 6000 personnel transiting through Episkopi and Troodos each year.
The largest resident units at Episkopi are HQ British Forces Cyprus and the Resident Infantry Battalion (currently First Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment). Other resident units include the Sovereign Base Areas Administration, Cyprus Joint Policing Unit, Military Working Dogs, Medical and Dental Centre, 55 Army Education Centre, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Directorate Children Services HQ, primary and secondary schools, Defence Fire and Rescue, SFP and SBA Police.
